Fatima is a university student in Faisalabad whose family runs a small textile business that had sold the same way for twenty years: walk-in customers, word of mouth, and nothing online at all. She was convinced the business was invisible to a whole generation of buyers — but she did not know where to start, and early attempts at posting "random photos" had gone nowhere.
“Our cloth was good. Our marketing was a shop shutter. I wanted to open a second shop — the one on everyone's phone.”
Fatima's starting point was a dormant Facebook page and a lot of opinions from relatives that "online selling is not for businesses like ours". She enrolled in Digital Marketing with one goal: prove the idea on her own family's shop first.
The course gave her a system instead of tips: content pillars, a weekly posting rhythm, how to photograph products honestly, and how small ad budgets actually work. Her assignments used her family's real products as the brief, with mentor feedback on every campaign plan.
She learned to read analytics without fear — which posts people saved, which they ignored, and what a click actually costs. Her final project was a complete one-month content and ads plan for the family business, reviewed line by line by her instructor.
The family launched its first proper product campaigns: consistent posts, clear prices, and small targeted ads. Enquiries started arriving through the page from customers who had never visited the physical shop — the proof her relatives needed.
Fatima now handles the digital presence for her family business and, on the side, manages pages for two campus-side businesses. One student's skill is modernising a family business that had not changed its marketing in two decades.
